Wellspring Executive Business Coaching
Business owners have a lot of things to do and a lot of things to learn. It’s overwhelming – the endless “to-do” list, books to read, podcasts to listen to, marketing to figure out, networking to schedule. The sleepless nights wondering if you are going to make it, the worries that you just aren’t good enough or don’t know enough… Add to all of this the pressure you feel to be successful for those who are relying on you for a paycheck. The stakes are high….and the pressure is too.
In addition to all that, small business owners tend to struggle with mindset problems, particularly the Imposter Syndrome. The Imposter Syndrome leaves you with feelings of self-doubt and personal incompetence that rear up even though you have the training, experience, and education to do what you are doing. These feelings can be so disruptive that you work harder and harder trying to prove yourself worthy of the business you are trying to grow; or worthy of the people who are working for you! Because the Imposter Syndrome feeds off of your efforts and your fear, you get into analysis paralysis. Mistakes you make result in a loss of confidence. You struggle to make decisions, you procrastinate, and overall you go to sleep more often than not afraid that you will fail.
I get it. I was there too. And sometimes, when I’m working on a new project the Imposter Syndrome creeps back in and I get overwhelmed with the many things I need to learn and do. I can completely relate to the new, or young, business owner who has great ideas and passion. Yet, they struggle with having a plan and learning the key skills that will increase their ability to implement their vision and develop consistent growth. I invested in business coaching when I first started, and I still invest in business coaching. Just as with any endeavor, coaching can take you to the next level and help you reach your goals.
About Your Executive Business Coach – Dr. Leedy:
Dr. Leedy earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Oklahoma and her Doctoral degree in Clinical psychology at Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, she served as the clinical director of the graduate student counseling program – responsible for providing consultation to junior graduate students who were providing therapy and managing the day-to-day operations of the clinic.
She has been a licensed psychologist since 2008, first starting her career at the VA in Tampa, Florida as a rehabilitation psychologist (working in the spinal cord injuries/disorders unit) and then working as a psychologist in the primary care setting. During her 9 year tenure at the VA, she was involved in training Motivational Interviewing (a therapeutic technique designed to move people closer to making positive changes in their lives) to physicians, nurses, medical social workers, and pharmacists. She was also trained in, and facilitated, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and Crucial Conversations – both multiday programs she facilitated for large employee groups at the Tampa VA for approximately 4 years.
Dr. Leedy started Legacy Counseling Services in Broken Arrow, OK in Jan 2015 as a solo mental health provider. She quickly learned that having a business consisting of only herself did not align with her values or with the vision she had for Legacy Counseling Services. In early 2017 she expanded into a group counseling practice with 1099 contractors. Currently, she leads a team of 8 contract mental health therapists and 2 virtual assistants.
Over the years, she has been committed to her receiving her own business coaching to which, along with the skills and talents of her great team, she attributes the success of Legacy Counseling Service. Dr. Leedy earned Woman Owned Business of The Year in 2018 and in 2021 Legacy Counseling Service earned Small Business of The Year from the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce Arrowhead Awards.
