Clients who have worked with me say that my quiet, gentle disposition and my heart for people help them relax so that they can explore their deepest issues and begin healing. If you are ready for mental health counseling, you and I will work together to help you move out of guilt and shame and heal from the situations that led you to believe that you are worthless, broken, or unlovable. As counseling progresses, you will begin to feel confident at managing your daily life, will be compassionate with yourself when you have a hard day, you’ll enjoy your friends and family more and will actually feel like doing things. And you’ll learn how to heal from a painful past and turn the volume down on the harsh thoughts about yourself. You can rediscover your true self again.
In my mental health counseling, I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), both of which are evidence-based treatments. Both of these treatments are effective in helping individuals move from places of shame, guilt, depression, and anxiety to living a life of courage, wholeness, and joy.
If incorporating spirituality, especially a Christian worldview, is important to you, I’m well suited to help you understand how your spiritual beliefs are influencing your current struggle and how your faith can help you heal.
I am a follower of Jesus Christ and I believe that through the Holy Spirit, healing can occur in counseling. It is my goal in counseling to respect people of all faith backgrounds and not push my personal beliefs onto you. If your Christian faith is a source of support and strength, I am happy to incorporate faith into our sessions and to explore how your faith helps. First and foremost, my goal is to provide you with a place that is safe and secure in order to deal with whatever has happened in your life.
