Patti Trammell, LCSW
Depression | Anxiety | Trauma | Chronic Pain/Illness | Insomnia | Teens | Adults
Patti has a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. She has over 10 years of experience as a therapist. Her passion lies in helping adolescents and adults improve their mental and emotional health and the quality of their relationships with others.
A note from Patti: Brain development in adolescence can cause a tidal wave of emotions that is confusing for adolescents and their loved ones. The emotional ups and downs and finding our place in the world is difficult. Teens and adults often struggle with anxiety related to fitting in, measuring up to the expectations of others, and being as good as their peers, which can leave them feeling depressed. Thoughts like “I am not good enough,” “There is something wrong with me,” “No one understands me,” and “No one would care if I wasn’t here” can create a sort of tunnel vision that furthers depression and anxiety. All of these things are confusing for caring people in these individuals’ lives who know how wonderful they are.
As parents, we want to see our children be happy and successful. Watching our loved ones struggle and experience hurt is an awful feeling. We want to help but are unsure of the best way to provide that help. Sometimes, our attempts to help are met with anger; other times, our loved ones retreat into their shell. I can help the individual see the big picture by understanding what drives these feelings and beliefs. We can find the tools for their loved ones to provide loving and practical support. Therapy can help these individuals recognize and appreciate how they are uniquely and wonderfully made. Therapy can help the individual see that they are enough just as they are and worthy of love and happiness. I can’t promise that your problems will be gone forever or you will never experience difficult feelings or situations again. However, I can help you learn to cope with difficult times and feelings while responding to them in ways that will continue to move you forward and be congruent with the person you strive to be. You are in the driver’s seat, and my role as your therapist is to be a passenger, helping you read the map and navigate your way to your destination.
THERAPY METHODS: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). She also has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain.
INSURANCE: Patti accepts most BCBS, Community Care, Health Choice plans, and Alliance Coal Group. She does not accept Medicaid or Medicare (primary or secondary). Contact your insurance company to ensure your SPECIFIC insurance policy covers Patricia (Patti) Trammell (NPI-1: 1568695443) as a provider.

"If incorporating spirituality, especially a Christian worldview, is important to you, I’m well-suited to help you understand how your spiritual beliefs influence your current struggle and how your faith can help you heal. I follow Jesus Christ and believe healing can occur through the Holy Spirit through counseling. But first and foremost, my goal in counseling is to respect people of all faith backgrounds and not push my personal beliefs onto you. I want to provide you with a safe and secure place to deal with whatever has happened in your life."

ABOUT DR. LEEDY:
Dr. Leedy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma and her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology at Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, she served as the clinical director of the graduate student counseling program – responsible for providing consultation to junior graduate students who were providing therapy and managing the day-to-day operations of the clinic.
She has been a licensed psychologist since 2008, first starting her career at the VA in Tampa, Florida as a rehabilitation psychologist (working in the spinal cord injuries/disorders unit) and then working as a psychologist in the primary care setting. While at the VA, she was certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia.
During her 9 year tenure at the VA, she was involved in training Motivational Interviewing (a therapeutic technique designed to move people closer to making positive changes in their lives) to physicians, nurses, medical social workers, and pharmacists. She was also trained in, and facilitated, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and Crucial Conversations – both multiday programs she facilitated for large employee groups at the Tampa VA for approximately 4 years.
Dr. Leedy started Legacy Counseling Services in Broken Arrow, OK in Jan 2015 as a solo mental health provider. She quickly learned that having a business consisting of only herself did not align with her values or with the vision she had for Legacy Counseling Services. In early 2017 she expanded into a group counseling practice with 1099 contractors. Currently, she leads a team of 8 contract mental health therapists and 2 virtual assistants. While she no longer provides individual mental health counseling, she continues to work with veterans offering compensation and pension disability evaluations.
Over the years, she has been committed to her receiving her own business coaching to which, along with the skills and talents of her great team, she attributes the success of Legacy Counseling Service. Dr. Leedy earned Woman Owned Business of The Year in 2018 and in 2021 Legacy Counseling Service earned Small Business of The Year from the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce Arrowhead Awards.
If you are interested in writing, scheduling speaking or training engagements with Dr. Leedy please contact the office at 918-505-4367.
On a more personal note, I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I strive to live a life reflective of His loving character. Just like all of us, I’m constantly in need of His grace. I am involved in my church community and believe that healing, even in the counseling room, ultimately comes through the power of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
